Chapter 3
In chapter three they talk about the only person to ever talk to Maniac Magee, it was a mistake but it was Amanda Bealer. Amanda caught Maniac Magees eye because she was carrying a suitcase so he figured she was running away aswell. So Maniac Magee stopped and said "hi". Amanda was wondering about him. Why was he talking to me and why is he in the East end where almost all the kids were black. Amanda sais hi back. They talk for a while and Maniac Magee asks "are you running away aswell?". Amanda laughed so hard and eventually she sais "no, I'm going to school" and she opens the suitcase and its full of more books than you would ever need for homework. Maniac Magee and Amanda were ontheir knees while every one else ran bye. Maniac Magee saw all sorts of books in her suitcase, and all of a sudden somebody yells "hurry up Amanda, were gonna be late for class!". Amanda slams the suitcase shut and Maniac Magee offers to carry it for her. Befor she could give it to him she asked all these question like "who are you?" and "wear are you from?" because she was not quit sure about this white kid. Amanda finishes the conversation and start running to the doors of the school. Maniac Magee catches up and askes "why do you bring all these books to school?" and Amanda tells him about her little sibling and how they like to scribble crayon on anything they could find. Maniac Magee asked to borrow a book, but Amanda asked "how would you get it back to me?" and Maniac Magee promised to bring it back then asks for her address. The Bell rang for school, so Amanda tells her address and throws him a book. Maniac Magee picks it up and Amanda is late for school for the first time in her life.

Chapter 5
In chapter five there is a house with a family named the Finsterwald's on 803 Oriole street.The Finsterwald's backyard is said to be a graveyard of tennis balls, baseballs, footballs, frisbee's, model airplanes, and on way boomerangs. The front steps of the house are un-sat-on, no paperkid would ever deliver there, and no kid would ever shovel snow there on a snowy day. That afternoon, the whole neighborhood heard a screaming boy coming from the Finsterwald's backyard. In chhapter five they do not mention his name, so they decided to call him Arnold Jones (not his real name of coarse!). Arnold Jones was seen being hoisted up in the air by 3 highschoolers. Arnold Jones was shreiking, kicking, and pleading to be let down. So of coarse the high school kids dump him into the yard. Arnold Jones clams up as soon as he hits the ground. After a minute or two of breathless silence, a faint chattering noise was heard umung the highschoolers. The chattering noise turned out to be Arnold Jones teeth chattering like snar drums. All of a sudden Arnold Jones whole body was starting to shake and the high schoolers start cheering "He's got the Finsterwallies!". Years later it's said that the highschoolers account differ. All three of the highschoolers have different stories, but they all saw the same boy some how get in the backyard wear Arnold Jones was shaking. They all saw the misterious boy talking to Arnold Jones. Then the boy lifted Arnold Jones and threw him on his shoulder to help him get out of there. The boy let him down on the front steps of the Finsterwld's house and as the highschoolers were leaving they look back and see Arnold Jones and the boy sitting on the frontsteps as Arnold Jones opens a book.
Chapter 10
In chapter 10 Maniac Magee was around the same spot he met the first girl, Amanda. As Maniac Magee was walking he noticed a lot of more kids around outside. There were kids everywhere. One kid was sitting on front steps and all of a sudden jumped out in front if Maniac. Maniac began to start walking again and the unusual kid followed. Finally he ran and poped up in front of Maniac, they chatted for a bit and the kids name ended up to be Mars Bar Thomson. They propbably called him that because he was always carrying a Mars Bar. Then Mars Bar Thomson, a black kid offerd Maniac Magee, a white kid, a bite of his mars bar. Maniac Magee hesitated and said "no" and Mars Bar Thomson insisted. So Maniac Magee took a bite. The whole neighborhood stopped and everybody dropped what they were playing. There was dead silence. White kids were never supposed to put their mouths were a black kids mout had gone before weather it was soda, spoons, or candy bars. Mars Bar Thomson got confused and was wondering "who is this white kid and where did he come from?". When Mars Bar Thomson gets confused, he also gets mad. Mars Bar thaught thet Maniac Magee was trying to be bad. Mars Bar thumped on Maniac Magee's chest and shouted "you think you can just come over here and be bad!?". Maniac denied and said "no I don't think I'm bad". Mars Bar stretched Maniac Magee's arm to the ground and forced him to agree he was bad. Mars Bar snatched Maniac Magee's book he was holding away from him but Maniac took it back. Mars Bar ripped a page from his book. All of a sudden a lady comes along and and sais to Mars Bar to give back the paper so he crumples it up and gave it back. Mars Bar leaves and The Lady said to Maniac "you better get on boy, where you belong".
